Together for the Gospel, Day One

April 13, 2010

Today roughly 7,000 people descended on the Kentucky International Convention Center for the 2010 Together for the Gospel Conference.

The first speaker was Mark Dever, pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. His topic: The Church is the Gospel Made Visible.

Speaker number two was R. C. Sproul, who spoke to us via a teleconferencing link. Even though he wasn’t physically with us, his talk was still superb.

I plan on sharing more of my impressions as the week goes on (and when I find the time), but one of the highlights so far is the singing of the 7,000 (mostly men). There’s something about being part of a huge choir that moves the heart.
